TUH ‘Big Thank You Giveaway’ Terms and Conditions of Entry

  1. Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Entry into TUH’s ‘Big Thank you’ promotion (‘Promotion’) is deemed acceptance, by each entrant, of these Terms and Conditions of Entry
  2. The promoter is Queensland Teachers’ Union Health Fund Limited ABN 38 085 150 376 of 438 St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 (‘TUH’).
  3. Entry into the Promotion is open to Queensland residents who are students of Queensland Primary and Secondary Schools and Early Childhood Centres, and their parents/guardians. Teachers may assist students to submit entries during class time, provided the teacher or school is authorised to provide consent on behalf of the parent/guardian of the student (refer to point 7 below).
  4. The Promotion commences at 9:00am on Monday 15 May 2017 and closes at 5pm on Friday 24 November 2017.  Student winners will be selected on Thursday 30 November 2017 and schools will be selected on Friday 26 January 2017.
  5. To be eligible to enter the Promotion, a student (and their parents/guardians) must visit, select the school or early childhood centre where the student’s teacher works and submit their entry. 
  6. All entries become the property of TUH.  All entries will be entered into a database and TUH may use the entrants’ names and contact details to administer the competition and for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes, unless otherwise advised.  TUH will collect, store, use and disclose this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
  7. It is a condition of entry that the parent/guardian consents to TUH using the student’s first name, age, school and thank you message e.g. (Alicia, Age 7, XYZ School, ‘thank you message’), on the TUH website and Facebook page without remuneration or compensation, for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this Promotion (including any outcome).
  8. One hundred students will each win a $50 EFTPOS card, and five schools will each win $1,000, payable by cheque/EFTPOS card. Student and school winners will be decided based on how warm and fuzzy they made us feel, and at the sole discretion of TUH.
  9. Student Winners:
    1. The 100 student winners will be announced on Friday 1 December 2017 at TUH, 438 St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley, QLD 4006.
    2. Student winners will be notified by email and/or phone and prizes will be sent via Australia Post week commencing Monday 4 December 2017.  
    3. Winners’ names will be published on the TUH website and Facebook page in the format of first name, age, school and thank you message e.g. (Alicia, Age 7, XYZ School, ‘thank you message’).
  10. School Winners:
    1. The five winning schools will be notified in term one 2017.
    2. Schools will be notified by phone and a representative of TUH will deliver/present the prize at a mutually convenient time.
    3. The winning schools must agree to participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the Promotion as requested by TUH. This includes allowing TUH to use the school's name, their representative, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same), without remuneration or compensation, for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this Promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products and services by TUH.
    4. If a winning school does not agree to these terms and conditions, the prize will be forfeited and another winner selected by TUH.
  11. The prizes are not transferable, refundable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.
  12. TUH shall not be liable for any loss (including, but not limited to, direct or consequential loss), damage, or injury whatsoever which is suffered  or sustained as a result of, or arising from, the winner’s acceptance and use of any of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. TUH will not be responsible for any act, omission, failure or delay not reasonably within their control.
  13. It is a condition of accepting any of the prizes that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by TUH in its absolute discretion. 
  14. TUH will take all reasonable steps to notify the winners of the results of the competition. TUH’s decision on all matters relating to the prize is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner of any of the prizes must claim the prize within three months from the date of notification otherwise the prize is forfeited. If the prizes are unclaimed, another school or student will be selected as a winner of the unclaimed prize. The winner of any unclaimed prize will be notified by email and/or telephone.
